Uptake post 7

 My identity as a writer-researcher

Over the course of the semester, I was able to better evaluate what I am typing, and also understand writing better too. How writing does not have to be an essay style, or boring. Genre can be a lot of things, like when we did our presentations, the genre produced was our PowerPoint. When it comes to research, it can be blogs, it can be articles, videos, podcasts, etc. Genre research to me means different sort of ways that I can obtain information about the topic I want to learn about. As I previously mentioned, and I'm sure many others have as well, research to me was like one google search and the first thing that pops up. Obviously, not the best thing at all. But now I find myself looking at youtube videos for visuals of the topic I want to look at, or listening to podcasts about different concurring events. It's a lot more productive way to engage with the topic I am looking at since I learn better when it is spoken to me, or shown to me. Rather than just me reading. Overall, it really progressed my outlook on topics and writing.
