 Multimodality 

With the five modes in multimodality (a media with more than one mode in it). I already knew of 3. Which would be visual, alphanumeric, and symbolic. While I did not know what multimodality was, or that these modes belonged in it, I knew of their existence in general. 

What did I learn?

I learned of Aural and Oral and found the differences between them both. Since they both include sound it is often confused. Aural is any sound in general, but Oral is sound being spoken by a human. An example of this would be in a song. Where the lyrics that are being sung are oral, and the instruments in the background are aural. Symbols are symbols that are non-alphabetic, such as gestures. Which can be seen in music videos. Does symbolic also include literal symbols like logos too? Maybe that is an obvious question. In general, it is pretty easy to understand since we encounter media everywhere in our technology-based lives and the modes that are in it.

 Alphanumeric - Lyrics. Visual - Background. Oral- The artist singing the lyrics. Aural- the musical sounds being played.
