 Translingualism- 

This concept I am still unsure of but after discussions, I would say it's when the meaning of a word can differ across languages. I confuse it with Global Englishes at times since I know and understand that term a lot better but with translingual, it's more like what would it be, example-wise. I understood how the meaning can change, like how in the UK, despite speaking English they would use words for things that we wouldn't say. I want to look at more examples so that I can be 100% sure that I fully understand this term, I also want to see how it can be placed in media. 

How it can correlate to my life? I live in a Spanish-speaking home, my parents grew up in a more poor town in Mexico and never learned grammatical Spanish. They would also even use words that mean a totally different thing than what the word actually translates to. So when it came to learning Spanish here, I was pretty confused a lot of the time. Cause I discovered just how many words I did not know correctly, plus even with communicating with my cousins in Mexico, they would ask why I speak like our parents, and not use words that are popular in our age instead.
