Uptake Post 1!
What is uptake? Uptake in my head is the process of taking old information/knowledge and memories molding them and adding something to make it new. New information, new processes, and new ways of doing things you previously did differently. Kinda like an upgraded version, or an update. or play-doh when you can change its form to something new. There are many ways uptake can be shown. Such as getting a brand new car, that is a different model and year. You would take the knowledge you had from your past car and its functions and try to see it in your new one. Since this is a different model and layout you would have to learn new things about it and how it functions rather than just driving it right away. Since it requires different things.
For example, When I traveled to Mexico to visit family, I had to get accustomed to plenty of things over there, since I could not just use my past knowledge of how my area worked. Such as not walking in streets, not trusting strangers, and the distance from places being far. When there you can walk in the streets, and greet anyone you pass by according to the time of day, everyone knows everyone, and everything is in close proximity. I gathered new information on what a normal day-to-day life is like there rather than back at home. If I travel to a different place, I would think of my time in Mexico and at home, while learning how day to day life is like in that different place.
In daily life? I usually process a lot of information in my daily life, like what others could be thinking of me, how their faces react to certain things, and my environment/surroundings. I am the sort of person who needs to see someone who has already gathered that new knowledge in order to understand it for myself. If I were to be in a new place, I would subconsciously think about the things I normally did, like where I have to go, and what I should be doing, and then look at someone else in the area and see what they do and then do it myself.
Uptake varies from person to person, as everyone's minds work in different ways. So the way they process and do new information will differ.
